Quick answer
Usually your MyKad, driving licence, recent payslips and bank statements. The exact list is set by the bank and depends on your type of employment.
Salaried employees
Prepare identification, a valid driving licence and recent income evidence. CIMB lists the latest three months of payslips or other income evidence. Banks may ask for bank statements, EPF or additional documents.
Self-employed applicants
Ask the bank which business registration and income documents are needed. Statement periods and supporting documents depend on the product and applicant assessment.
Protect personal information

Civil servants
Civil servants are usually asked for recent payslips, and sometimes an employer confirmation letter. Some banks have products for civil servants; ask about the actual terms before choosing.
Irregular income
If your income changes every month, for example as an e-hailing driver or on commission, prepare several months of bank statements to show your income flow. The bank assesses how consistent your income is, not only your best month.

If you have just changed jobs

Mistakes that slow down an application
Blurry or cropped documents, names that do not match the MyKad, incomplete payslips, and bank statements that do not show the salary being credited. Check every copy before sending so the bank does not need to ask again.
